Arthur Monk (born December 5, 1957 in White Plains, New York), was an American football wide receiver in the National Football League. Nicknamed "Quiet Man" or even just "No. 81" for his humble & quiet conduct, he played collegiately for Syracuse University as a running back. A Washington Redskins drafted him in 1980 & converted him to wide receiver. Along sustaining Gary Clark and Ricky Sanders, he was part of the prolific wide receiver trio nicknamed "The Posse", when entirely ternary receivers experienced 1000 yards-+ seasons. At a prevent of his career, he played briefly for the New York Jets and the Philadelphia Eagles.
In a period of his career, he broke various records in the NFL; his best known record held was the record for career receptions at 940, late broken by Jerry Rice; despite breaking many NFL records, Art Monk has been passed several days for entry into a NFL Hall of Fame, to the puzzlement of numerous.
Monk helped obtained a Dependable Samaritan Foundation sustaining his Inland northwest mate.
Art Monk likewise lends his title to the youth/high school football camp.
